This oddity from the 1970s has an intriguing, shaggy feel to it. The first and last film directed by novelist Thomas McGuane, it's based on one of his novels, which was nominated for the National Book Award. Peter Fonda stars as a Florida Keys upstart, who wants to run his own fishing-charter business. But he comes up against a rival captain (played by Warren Oates), who feels that Fonda is horning in on territory that should be exclusively his. Oates is infuriated even more when Fonda keeps ignoring his death threats. The stellar cast includes Margot Kidder, Elizabeth Ashley, Burgess Meredith, and Harry Dean Stanton.
